Yeah i know that mate, i guess what i was trying to ask was, are the trowels built to last or are they similar to other expensive tatt thats been sold on in the past ?

To be honest mate, we realised there was a problem with the Excaliburs but unfortunately the manufacturers offer no guarantee. That's why we have the EZE Spats with spare blades now.
From the info iv been given the Ox range seem to be a very good quality. If you want an EZE spat I will chuck in free delivery and a few blades for you due to the problems you have had.

Thanks Ryan thats a kind offer, but ill stick with my 18" & 13" Thank you anyway.

Will have a look at that mate. They have assured me it is. Will look into it for u
Just thought you should know before you start sending them out. I couldn't be bothered to contact Ox over a pipe trowel. Normal 14 and 22 stainless towels are excellent.

Oh thanks for the protector tape. Box arrived this morning excellent service with speedy delivery will be ordering again!

i have the ox bucket trowel and hawk had them for about 18 months now still in really good nick aswell i will buy them again not bought a trowel though after i tried a 16 craft to give them ago never again should be called crap not craft,so i just bought a 16 in mt

they are crap i think they mis-spelt the name should be crap i had two they both rusted to buggery in a week 50 quid aswell stainless well meant to be i had the leather handle aswell to look good it matched my price work laderhosen

Are they the same craft trowels as "Kraft" ? I've just been looking at their elite range with the leather bound handles. They look a nice trowel but i don't know what the steel is like.
Malc off ov here uses them and rates them

yep kraft elite 16 in with leather bound handle is what i had rubbish sent two bk in 3 weeks rusted to shite the response i had from the dealer was we have had quite a few back for the same reason rusting and pitting within a week he reckons it was a bad batch but i just said give me an mt and they were stainless i wouldnt have another

i bought a carbon steel ox bucket trowel, brown and rusty after 5 minutes. Same for the gauger, but my corner trowel is perfectly silver and shiny stainless. Thinking of getting a big 20" ox trowel, but if they rust, marshaltown it is

i dnt think the trowels rust mate, i havent got one but from what i understand from other people the trowels are mustard

Carbon steel will rust.. My 12, 14 and 18" ox trowels are nice clean and rust free as they are stainless

Having read previous threads i know theres no love on this forum for the refina s*p*r*lex trowels but having persevered with it i will buck the trend and say its the best thing i have ever bought, the handle is hideous so i swopped it for a bass wood m/town, a little rub with some wet and dry, keep it at a shallow angle and you can trowel the whole set without a single drop of water, they might be marmite but i love it.:RpS_thumbup:

You cant expect carbon steel not to rust when introduced to water.......:RpS_confused:

not after 5 minutes!....my corner trowel is spot on though. Theres a hire place in huddersfield that does ox trowels and they have them all there, so i can pick em up and have a feel.
