Painting over Knauf

Fellas,

Have heard a few horror stories about painting (emulsion) over Knauf finishing plaster - paint not bonding and peeling away etc...

Surely, if u mist coat (50/50 water) you'll be ok?

What u reckon?

Cheers

Never seen a problem with it, When we were doing it on sites most painters only used to give it one coat because its white plaster

Mate ....the problem with that one coat s h i t is when put on thick i.e not a skim coat but backing as well in places etc. It take's longer to dry as ther plaster dries from behind and pulls the moisture through.
You need to use a breathable paint i.e high opacity paint.if not you actually seal the plaster so it cant breath and crreates problems.
If you use the right paint you could paint stright after polishing up if you really wanted too !!!!
But best to leave 1 day minimum i reckons

leyland high opacity matt emulsion, vapour permeable, two coats from skim to brilliant white, best paint i ever used and sands away to nothing too(at lest someone told me it does!) :D
