hi guys steve again from jnc.. does anyone know if you can use the parex maite dash reciever over normal sand and cement,,im just dashing a house in conventional and the customer has just ask if we can use the coloured render and dash,,and just wondered what the process is or do we definatley have to go over there basecoat,,ive done ot before with k rend texture but not the parex gear,,any ideas lads,,steve

you will need a scratch coat but maybe sand and cement might pull it in too much, its murder to use anyay like it picks up quick. I was told to use maite as dash receiver once too but i wouldnt fancy using that as a dash receiver and i didnt do it in the end, maite is actually the thin coat base for insulation i would love to hear your feedback on how it doubles as a dash receiver

they do loads of maite dash systems down here. they reckon you could lay a whole househouse then drop bak and dash

i tried it today lads, dont bother,, this is not good for sand an cement,, its way too sticky and it slumps to quickly,, it draws to quick also,, stick to there base coat or float up with nails like we would with skim,,you have to be 100% flat or itll slump,, theres no cheating here,, but then again you can cheat with the k rend one,, woo hoo

What about blanc du littoral as a good dash receiver mixed a bit thinner? No slump and proper white...? Saying that being a mono maybe it'll pick up too quick? Parinter is half way between maite and mono.. What about that? Why do t Parex bring out a dash receiver instead of relying on their super expensive maite for everything??? Using it to stick insulation slabs on is pure extravagance!

thing is one blend does all - makes sense from a manufacturing point and back in the good old days (yes the days before all the fly by night were gonna get rich of the GD firms set up) parex system was specified for stick only as was dryvit = no pinning was wonderful. make a base coat super polymer and strong enough and you dont need pins - just now with all the rubber stamping in this country they both have to use pins in this country.

Dryvit have now developed a more economical bagged adhesive for sticking knowing that the secondry fix (pin) is in the spec. I think Parex should do the same
