doing a small patch repair for a friend but unsure how to create effect, finish is like a pebble dash but smaller.
broke a piece up and little or no aggregate couple of bits upto 3-4 m.m (sharp sand maybe?)topcoat is only about 2-3 m.m with lumps sticking out could it be a wetmix flicked on with a brush/trowel?

(tried uploading photo from my p.c but only see option for uploading from url and dont have any photo accounts)

idiots guide required as only ever did a few small smooth render jobs in the past so always avoided rendering as not a strong point.

Yes, sounds like tyroleaned although I have a dashing job to do and the existing is more like horticultural grit.

ive looked at tyroleane but that looks sharper generally .just cut it out today and done a base coat .the original was one coated so ive brought it up to just below the level of the textured finish so ive got a couple of days to decide what to do.
ive seen the flicker ? for the tyroleane for around a tenner somewhere so may just get one and do it with that (its just for this so dont matter if it only lasts five minutes) allready told my mate i wouldnt be able to match the finish and i think the whole lot will have to come off sometime and be redone so maybe looking for a renderer in berkshire in a year or two.
