Morning,
I had to patch in some render on an old coach house last week which had cracks through to the old stone above two arches (pic attached), the patch is about 6mtrs long by 60cm high, the cracked area was hacked off, meshed over the cracks, scratched and had a go at getting the finish in the top coat, my best guess was to Tyrolean it and soften it with a damp roller. Obviously the wrong way cos when the paint hit it :RpS_scared: needless to say the customer wasnt happy as you can clearly see the patch so im back next week to sort it! :RpS_crying:
The finish is one I haven't seen before, it has some smooth lines here and there but the main texture is pitted unlike a pronounced (see pic), it looks to me like it may be a rolled finish?? does any one have any ideas on how to achieve the original finish?
I think its pretty unlikely the patch will be invisible and the wall is in a prominent area so I am now tempted to key the whole wall with a sbr and cement slurry and put a light Tyrolean over the area, could you Tyrolean straight onto the SBR slurry?
Any ideas?
