Not the first time I've had this problem , end up wedging the power lead at an angle to get a charge , any tips
 
New one, @tightwad.
I'm not laying out another £50 lol
Got me granddaughter's first birthday to go to so I'm gonna leave it propped with a full kettle pressing on the connector

Yes. Get a magnetic connection. No more plugging in then.

Where are you buying charging wires? They're only about a fiver.
 
It’s just usually fluff out your pocket compressed in there, tooth pick or similar and scrape it clear give it a gentle tap on the worktop and you should be sorted.
The brush you get with a pair of clippers is good for that.
