Il like the neatness of the skimming at floor level ..... that is one thing I am known for is not coming down far enough in places, i just dont know why I keep doing it, No one can knock my work apart from that and i keep on doing it ... must be stupid i suppose :(

i do the same! y ?

whats snowcrete ;D..........i thought it was white cement but the render looks yellow ?

I think its the camera mate , it was no where near that yellow more of a spunky beige

aaaaaah getcha ;).....you could have really blagged it then .......well i had to add dye in perfect quantitys to colour match exactly what the client required ;D.........were those facias up aswell ? must have been a pain the arse theres always something that ruins a straight forward job!

you should go see the quack mate.. ;D
nice job btw.. like the way the fascias spotless, theres no bellcast over the window (would have spoilt it), the roll on that ceiling and the finish is bang on..
loverly job..

Yes the fascias were in place , takes a bit of fooking around but its all in a days work ??? or is it , thanks for noticing the rolled ceiling Segs, i was well chuffed with the way it came out ;)

i used to work for a loft conversion firm, the spreads used to bond roll the day before using a tool like a rubber table tennis bat. do mine with my trowel, what do you lot do? very lovely work church

freehand mate but ill rule them off if i can be bothered ........i had a room to do with 8 splayed angles they wanted curved so was tempted to buy a rubber thingy .........ended up just curving the ceilings and hard angles on the walls ;D

Freehand all curves mostly with thick plaster , will sometimes rule it then leave alone for half an hour or so , then two coat skim as normal i allways wash out the bucket in between thick and normal coats , i think its important that the dubbing out sets faster than the top coats.

excellent advice church, i did just the opposite once and dubbed out with board adhesive..
big, BIG mistake..
the finish went off and the board adhesive was still moving around underneath, was absolutely impossible to stop it rippling..

what backing plaster is meant by round plaster? is it bonding? church and would you do the same kind of thing if you were doing a re-skim :-\

LOL i changed 'thick' to 'round' in the swear filter..
see 'plasterers jargon' in the faq mate...

Couple of years ago had these to do thru 3 floors, inverted winder...cant really see in pic ( sorry didnt get any close ups ) but a midget trowel couldnt even get on curve....too steep....ended up using bendy plastic to make a trowel like a swimming pool trowel.....its was a nightmare....
PS on tight barrels i use bonding and an old cd, pull it thru comes out a treat everytime....nice pics earlier boys

Sometimes you do have to make it up as you go along ,tight ceilings are a nightmare phippsy333 and you have to use what ever works , if you do have to fill anything out with a bonding first with what ever you use to put it on 9 times out of ten it works the same when you skim it i find.

nice work gary...but i wouldnt expect anything less from u fella lol..render ..seen it and sent a message about it to matey thx

my living room ..........sorry pictures are a bit dark :-\
overboarded the ceiling and gypbondit the walls

;D.....i try too ...especially if it's still a tad green .......cheers for the replies lads ....bit boring photos though ;D
