Pipe work behind freshly plastered wall - cold/damp spots please help.

Hi,

We have recently had a lot of building work done at our property (going up into loft), and needed to move some pipework to make it work. Basically all the pipes go up, please see attached picture) and were chased into the wall (a fairly thin wall to be fair).

Plastered dried and all seemed ok until we noticed what appeared to be damp spots along the wall, following the line of some of the pipework. A, I right in assuming this is a leak?, moisture?, damp? They certainly weren’t there couple of weeks ago. It’s quite clear that they follow how the pipes are.

Pictures show wall area after plaster, all looks good. Then one couple of weeks later with what appears to be wet spots, it feels very cold to touch. Other picture shows how the pipework runs up through the wall (they were wrapped also I believe).

Just after some of your thoughts? We will be getting the builders to come and look, and hopefully put our mind at rest and sort it (just don’t want to be fobbed off that’s all I spun a load of bull)

Maybe condensation. With the damp plaster there is lots of moisture absorbed and condensation forming on the cold pipes. Give it time to dry out. Hopefully it will disappear

I think it's the cold water pipework, happens in cold weather/ house.
Longwinded to explain fully but; vapour in house (cooking, breathing etc) will turn back into liquid as soon as it comes into contact with cold surfaces.
Pipework should have been lagged before plastering.
Short cuts have consequences.

Pipework was lagged, and is near to the hot (u can feel through the wall) so thought that would have kept it dry. Builder also mentioned as there’s voids the plaster maybe thicker in those areas and takes longer to dry……. If that’s the case would you expect them to completely disappear if that’s is the case?

Another suggestion is the plastic clip at top could have a very slight leak so some is running down along the pipes. If that’s is in line with the mains water pipe would u expect it to be that cold on that specific area all the time?

Hopefully they will disappear
