Hi I'm not a plasterer but have done bits and pieces in my house that have turned out ok before so am attempting this job.
Removed a brick fireplace and filled the gap with plaster board.
The existing walls are lather and plaster lined with lining paper.
Is it recommended to remove the lining paper as far as the new plaster is going to spread when I join the two surfaces?
I think even if I paint the lining paper with oil paint to stop the moisture it runs the risk of pulling off the wall right?

Thanks for any advice.

If I turned up and the lining paper was still on the walls where i was supposed to be skimming Id be straight back in the van :RpS_wink:
