plaster not drying !!!

hi all,
hubby has "patched" 2 small areas on the artex ceiling with multi finish plaster - looks o.k. & is quite passable,however although the 1 patch has dried & gone pinky the 2nd 1 is still as dark as it was 3 days ago !! any ideas on why this could be? to the touch it appears dry but the colour is saying otherwise - could we still paint over it?

Just let it sit... Unless there is a water leak above it will dry.. I have walls still drying that I plasterered last week

put water on the dry one see if they're the same colour.
