Plaster over artex

Fellas,

Plastered over 30m2 artexed ceiling a fortnight ago. I also gave it 2 coats of dulux matt trade (mist coat 50:50 water, and coat straight out of tub a day later). Only prob I had was an inch square of plaster came away with artex attached, which didn't really bother me as I just stuck some polyfiller stuff over it then painted when dry.

Now just got call from client saying 'about inch plaster has come away, but everything else ok'. What can I use to seal this?

PS - This hollow is almost directly underneath the bathroom's shower tray!

Cheers!

u could try everbuild interior stabilising solution, but when artex is exposed to moisture its fcuked your better off scraping back all the damaged atrex and patching the ceiling. sounds like there is a drip some were or they've had a leak in the past and the damage wasn't that bad and they just painted over with stain block.

Yeah, It was the 'peak' effect artex so I scraped it flattish. The artex had been painted. Though I agree with u about some kind of past leak in that area, otherwise I'd surely have problems all over the ceiling?

Sometimes happens with artex.
Skimmin over artex can create a host of different problems.
Just eaqsyfill the area or use a good quality filler. It happens to us all m8.No plasterer if there honest like s to skim over artex.
If it was a kitchen ceiling, grease fat could be the issue, but pva usually sorts that out.

pva doesnt sort out kitchen fat mate.... no chance. you need to sugar soap the ceiling removing all traces of fat
