plaster problem on hydramix/vandex

hi all, I have a customer that has problems with a shower room.
the job was done 18 months ago. I have seen pics of 2 coats of vandex, a coat of hardwall, and multi finish, it has been tiled, but the tiles have blown. I have removed a few tiles, and the plaster is just pulling away from the vandex, or hydramix, whatever they have used.
any ideas why this would happen, and how to rectify it, what products to use.

Hardwall won't bond to vandex as there's no suction, I'd hack off the hardwall, sbr,then when tacky spatter with s&c. Then render & skim as normal

when you say "spatter with s&c" do you mean sand and cement?
