I'm a builder in need of a plasterer in Birmingham. The bloke who was doing the work for me has semi-retired and buggered off to Spain. I thought his rates were high!:RpS_biggrin:
The work is all on private jobs (kithcens, extensions etc) and I do a lot of refurbs. I prefer to work on day rates, but that's up to the subby. Either CIS or invoiced are fine, and I don't haggle or try to cut prices. I like a simple life, you tell me how much, do the job and I pay. I don't mind if materials are supplied by me or the subby. If I get it I just need to know what's needed and the quantity.
I need someone who is good at their job, turns up when they agree and can cover the range of stuff in the trade. The vast majority will be plastering, but some rendering and screeding from time to time.
I can provide trade and customer references to demonstrate payment and work. I would expect the same from someone I will be working with and inviting into people's homes. I'm not interested in people who think they're experts because the have a certificate. Results are the only thing that count for me.
The first job would be late May early June. Skim a small kitchen (empty room), and a hall stairs and landing. The hall is old lime plaster that's had it's day. I think the best solution will be to have the lot off, board and skim. The kitchen is about seven or eight square metres. The hall is four metres long, landing three, plus the stairs. There'll be a couple of rendering bits to patch in (blocked up door and window). I put a rough description to give you an idea of the type of work I do.
