Hi all, skimming a timber frame house at the moment and we're down to the last few walls. The client has installed a solid fuel stove and its sitting 600mm off the ground on blockwork. The breast is formed with mf and slabbed with fireline plasterboard(pink board). The face of the stove will be flush with the breast and the rest is incorporated in the breast. All that will be seen is the face of the stove(the door).I know that the flue is stainless steel wrapped by fireproof bricks but the problem is the heat around the door.I told the builder that a heat resistant plaster will be required but can the heat resistant plaster be applied to the fireline board or is the whole breast a problem.Should it all have been done in blockwork......?
