Had xray today broke a bone in drinking hand the weekend
I thought it was just swollen & would go down but struggled a bit
With pain when coving mon & tues, but hardwall & skim tommorow
so gonna have to use left hand for plastering.
Luckily the hardwall I gotta do is only half metre high & it's the complete ground floor due to burst pipe so should be ok Putting it on left handed.
Then skim walls.
I'd have some time off but just got back From 2weeks away
& being a subbie i'll get feck all if i'm off!
Anyone else ever had to do anything like this?

top man in my eyes ;)...........apart from that youre fcucked mate ......if you can get it on the hawk lay it on with it ............still have to skim left handed though good luck ;)

I often trowel up the odd bit left handed if it's easier to get the right angle but I wouldn't fancy floating and setting any amount with a broken hand left or right :o

My brother broke his arm and had it in a cast and carried on plastering but he is f**k**g mental. I think i would have the time off :)

He should of done but he was getting paid by his insurance ;D. Funny i was working a few years back with our lab at the mo and he broke his arm and still carried on working and said to me 1 day he missed the day to get his cast removed so i cut his cast off with a pair of snips but he was still in pain then when he went up the hospital they told him he only had it on a week and a half and had another 3 weeks to go ;D

I know a good left hander! Me! ;D Seriously tho, bad luck I know I couldn't plaster other handed. A lad at work has bust his hand and is bolloxed, days off n labouring!!

Well somehow i managed to do it!
Holding loaded hawk in right hand was a bit painful
so just put less on it.
Used right hand a few times, but it just slows everthing down
when your hands forked, even knocking the gear up is a pain in the..... hand.
Got 40m2 of SLC tomorrow afternoon don't fancy doin it left handed while leaning on right hand that's knackered!
so got a mate giving me a chuck it'll only take us 30mins & he can bring his spiked roller too!

hope it heals soon or i'm gonna struggle later on.

i'd get a credit card and let it heal mate or it could do you over in the future................enjoy a bit of time off ;)
