Plastering previously tiled, old stone bathroom wall

I have removed tiles from and internal old stone wall in a bathroom. Going to plaster then paint top half of wall, and wood panels on bottom half. We are talking a small area of plastering, 2 meters wide by 1 meter high. My question is what sort of plaster do I need for an old stone wall in a bathroom (not external wall). Do I need breathability? Any suggestions?

Metal stud and board if it was me.. keep it simple

Depends . I made a mistake as i wanted to make sure i had enough room for suite so just dotted moisture boards on .(small bathroom)done rest of upstairs with insulation boards as no cavity. Wish i.d done in bath room as its like a fridge in there
