what do you guys do when plastering straight on to the bottom of an R S J ,the job i am on at the moment has one about 5m long and it forms the head of the bi fold doors ???
 
look on the tube, it says sticks to steel and sticks to plasterboard. so stick it to the steel and the plasterboard ;)

might want to get a couple of board props under it to give it a bit of pressure while it sets

I did a few 2 day, I loaded it with dab and a the plaster board fixing foam! Bagin on wedge it up and level out! Foam is dry in 5mins and can hold it self, now some 1 tell me how wrong that is
 
thats wrong that, really really really wrong...

why didnt you double board it like youre supposed to?

i dunno about you oasis, but i've seen dab come off rsj's, we did a site of 86 flats and they all had steel box section lintels in them, we tried sticking a few and they just came down eventually, so we ended up pinkgripping them all.
 
i usually score and fold mine round the 3 sides, bit of gripper on the bottom bit, screws in the nogins... bead it and skim it instantly if you want, none o this 20minutes crap..
 
just gripfill it mate, pinks the best, and stick your beads on with what you got left in the tube...

PVA the fcukers first
 
Theres a silicon gun applied adhesive made from polyurethane and it is fully set in about 5 mins.

It comes in handy on a lot of things too.
 
pink grip or grip fill work fine
can you not use tapcons into the steel
seld tapping screews
