Possible asbestos exposure

Hi all
Thanks in advance for looking at my post :)
I came across this site whilst trying to search asbestos in bonding plaster. I have searched through the posts here to no avail.

Basically, about 2 years ago we got our bedroom and bathroom plastered. I removed the tiles from our bathroom and came across old crumbly grey plaster with white hard lumps and what looks like tiny little black stones? There was also strands in it (Burnt these and they smelled like burning human hair) The house was built in the decade 1929-1939 and has had some plaster work done since (Ex council house)

The bedroom was done not long after as a (Different) plasterer had to remove the wood edging - I mentioned asbestos to him and he was useless (Did a crap job too)

I'm wondering if I've been exposed to asbestos and by unfortunate default my wife and young kids too... I could find an inconspicuous place and try to get a sample, there are possibly some under the bath panel, but either way, it's too late as far as exposure is concerned.

Cheers
Rob

Leave it alone asbestos will not harm anyone unless it's airborne, if you are really concerned then call an asbestos specialist it won't be cheap but that is the price you pay for peace of mind, to be honest it sounds like old lime plaster and bonding coat tho

It'll be the horse hair in the old Plaster.
It's the anthrax you have to worry about:frenetico:..

Just out of noseyness....why was it a crap job?... Bloody wood edge beads:rolleyes:
