just gave a quote.
rough 3 bedrooms 2 double 1 single (box room) doesn't want skirtimg takin off so can't board it. (WTF)
tried to explain that it would prob be cheaper to get board then just have new skirts wacked on.
also stairs wants hlf roughin then fly through with the skimmin full stair case.

also when i get there 2 other young lads (like me are pricing it up. cheeky ba$t4rd.

£1641.00 8 - 10 days......

I've just priced up bathroom & wc, overboard ceiling, bit o patching and give the rooms tight coat of bonding and skim, two days work plus materials, now I would normally go in at £150 a day but I though go in just a bit less, so I thought £320.00 all in would be a good price. It was, £130 less than another guy but I was still under cut and not got the job!
 
no mate, its all back to brick and he insisted on roughing out.
not called back so im not that fussed. just fed up of people takin pi$$
 
No never ask, customer told me, I've had plenty of your too expensive but people never normally let on I was suprised this guy was so willing to tell but he was of the ethnic way so to say who generally like a bargin if they can get away with it!!!!
To be fair the price I put in for a job is the price I'm happy with to do the job, I wont put a low price in just to get the job, I'd rather sit at home than work for peanuts! However there is a lot of it going round, lot of firms dropped the rates, guy I know had £3 per hour taken off him, work that one out! £150 per week!! I was offered a job last week to work over the bank holiday week end, thurs to monday at £11 per hour with no travel, they taking the piss!!
Wait till the work comes back not be enough blokes to go round, name your price! Call it back pay!!!

i hate it when people do things like that..take walls back to the brick and leve skirts on..like they no better than us and think they are being clever for leaving them on?
 
I went to price a small job the other day just one wall couple of hours work including traveling the customer said they have had a qoute for £40 £30 labour and £10 mats

How do you compete with that l know it was only a small job but l think that is definitely taking the p****

i just quoted a small job 2 box rooms just celings plus patchin in the rooms under sockets.. i said 220 all in if both rooms are ready 2 go,,,no capet..they were well happy and wanted me in a.s.a.p thats the way it should be!
 
true oasis, i did a nice job yesterday. artex ceilling curved into wall then skim up the other walls.
i did not get in house til 09.30 and did not get first mix on til 11ish. struggled like f**k with the ceilling and 1 wall for some reason. but got there in end.
the young couple i did it for loved it al the end and were really impressed i only charged £230.00
for full room but i dont mind helping people out like that who are trying to get on in life.
just pi$$ me off when some asian guy starts tellin ME how much he goin to pay.
i asked him also what line of business he was in (u kno tryin to make idle chit chat) he says MOBILE PHONES, this was 10 mins before he jumps in his 09 plates merc.

who msaid there ws a credit crunch on , sounds like the works comming in for some of us, bout time too.
