Do any of you fellas price jobs up without viewing first?

If its just a bedroom or a ceiling reskim then do you ever just give a fixed price over the phone or is it too much of a gamble.

I have done in the past and would do again but only if its a simple job, and I make sure to ask that all areas are clear.
