Evening All,
Does anyone here ever use Pro Rend colour? Half way through a job and was just curious as to the cost, client told us he paid £14 per bag, thought that was a bit steep.

do they manufacture their own or do they buy from a bagging manufacturer such as Killwaughter ? looks alot like krend on the sample

Not sure, The bags have SAS groups print on them. Handles the same as Krend. First time Ive used it, not too bad so far.

It is made in germany and their bucket coat is Dutch. SAS belongs to a group of companies. I have used their mono once and their renders. Really nice stuff to use and the bucket coat is the best I have used so far.

That's the good side now the bad......

They are in Exeter so no just popping down for an extra bag or 2. I have been once and it took 9 hrs. They probably are the most expensive on the market on the renders. Their mesh grade 5 is good but £78 + vat. About £20 more than the competition. So good gear but costs.

I do offer them as an option to the others on the basis their mono has a silicone in it so could keep cleaner for longer but most customers look at the ££££ so SAS loses out. I do have a job coming up though but in May.

dont worry what the bag print is they are done before they go into killwaughter and the likes and they bag it, just like a brewery with different brands of beer etc.

so i was always under the impression J that it was krend the samples they sent out years back were just alike to WBY Krend and now you mention it has silicone ? ? are you sure now, germans aint known for putting silicone in monocouche.

have you tried BASF finish such as marmorit ? very good bucket coat as is parex

I think sas had a good thing going a few years back but has sort of been forgotten a bit like krend. Why would you use them over parex. I don't really look much further tbh these days. You can walk into any selco and pick up o e bag of krend for £8.99 off the shelf. Parex 30kg is kind of the renderers render and around 8.50 a 30kg bag. See there's just no market for sas and the like

kind of agree on that one.

When I went down to SAS they told me about the company who is a sister company to a german Co that make the powder product and they have a co in Holland making the bucket stuff.

They also mentioned that the other company making a silicone (k rend) mono gives off a cloud of dust when in the hopper but theirs doesn't. They did give me a bit of scientific waffle why but I have long since forgot.

Yes Parex seems to have it all and has respect from their customers. I tried going over to them when I fell out with Weber but I found them ignorant. Having lost confidence with the ignorant lot at Weber I did not want go from the frying pan into the fire. SAS answered the phone and gives me support although they are usually priced out compared to the likes of SPS Envirowall.

SPS has some interesting products but now Steve Blower has left to take over the South of England I am not to happy with his replacement. If it does not improve then I will give Parex a go.

Get in touch with the local rep....I never phone 'parex' as such. They really need to make a winter grade dpr though as mines still tacky today after all thus rain and has scarred on one of the sills. Sprayed it last Wednesday ffs
