no but im having probs with bonding snap setting all of a sudden ............give it 2 weeks and if its still taring f**k knows mate

I get that sometimes on reskims myself, but if you ever use the same stuff on boards no problem.
It sometimes pulls of high spots and such like, just keep a little gear by and wet up and put on problem area thats all you can do mate.
its rarely the product mate and nearly always how you apply or background problems etc ,happens to even the best in the business!!!!
if im using board finnish on reskims i always use a lot more water /spray than on boards it seems to help this

yes mate, every plasterer on our site has been complaining including us, seems to dry funny like a sandy/gritty feel to it it also smells different some 1 said they have added more chemicals for some reason.
i dont know much about how its made but do they change the chemical mixture in it?

I must admit today i put on 5 walls (over skim ) and 2 on boards and all but one on boards tore a little,or left marks when polishing.
only 2 days ago i told this guy to use more water.Weird, but definately wasnt troweling quite as good as usual finnish .
Sometimes on over skims you do get a little drag but it even happened in a couple of small areas on 1 of the boarded walls too.the house was really cold maybe still a little soft or maybe plaster ????? dunno?

Tearing is normally caused when the 1st coat has set way more than the second coat.

Maybe because of the cold - the 1st coat gets some "insulation" from the 2nd coat and can set but the second coat is still feeling the cold and setting slower??? (maybe maybe not)

Possibly try useing warmer water to mix with, I dont mean entirely hot just maybe a quarter hot water and 3 quarters cold.

I did that once knocked up a small bucket with hot water for a hallway ceiling & the mix was going off fast
I thought result once it's on the ceiling it'll trowel up quicker.... Did it f u ck!
Took longer if anything.
