Pushing is only ok for crossing. Trying to do any other trowel pushing doesn’t feel right you don’t have the right balance in trowel.

You don't want to be heavy handed, you go light, reduces fatigue. Its the classic mistake novices make, as lurpak said you'll use the back of the trowel to cross. More nonsense from professor waffle.
