I have always been taught to PVA a wall if it needs re-skimming. PVA it and allow it to dry before skimming.

I was talking to some old geezer the other day and he mentioned that he always skims the wall when PVA is still wet as the coat goes on easier. Now forgive me if I am wrong but wouldnt his mix just slide off the wall or not stick properly? :-/

If anyone has tried this and found it works better can you let me know

cheers

i pva wait for it to go tacky then skim if its to wet then it will cause you problems, im guessing that the he meant tacky as opposed to wet most walls will go tacky in about 10-15 mins anyway.
