Hi I am a new member,

If I were to think correctly, it would be okay to render over Breeze Block (with quick dry cement to save time of the cemenet mixer) and then to skim Hardwall and then two coats of Gypsum MFinish.

instead of...
the more conventional method of putting up plasterboard and skimming.

This is only because my friend wants to retain space by decreasing the thickness of his new walls.

Thanks. Open for discussion

The bit about quick drying cement makes no sense? to save what with the cement mixer? if you put rapid set in the mixer you definitly wouldn't save it, and your walls would go off while you were working, so not quite sure what the **** your talking abaaaaat.

If you want internal render to set quick add multi to the mix this will also set your skim off quick aswell

If you want him to remain a friend get a PLASTERER to do it because from what you have written you don't know what you're doing.:RpS_thumbup:

Can I do this? He doesnt really want plasterboard cus of the extra space between the batons, but I wasn't quite sure of what was the best materials to use.

thats alot of work, just go staight on the blocks with a straightening plaster, run over with a darby or straightedge, float up with nails in your float to leave a key then skim over once set, sounds easy, mabey better pay a pro 25m2, then no worries :RpS_wink:

Pva, scrim all the mortar joints and skim. Its best to mix your skimming with a stick in a washing up bowl

make sure you use half board finsih, half multi on blocks. and add a handfull of cement to the mix to help it bond. and i wouldnt mix in a washing up bowl personally, i find cake mix bowls much easier. u can use a cake whisk in them and it doesnt splash too much.

If the room is so tight you cant get a 9.5mm board and 10mm dab on it then it aint worth plastering. So just s**t on wall and spread it with your little finger.

well yeah i was also thinking of drylining, so 9.5mm board and 10mm might be an option. But yer technically hardwall is better for this than browning. idk i'll wait and see.

He could have a door lining tight to the wall I think people are joking my love when they say he'll struggle to fit the carpet or furniture
