Got a client who is a friend and she wants some work replacing which she had done in the 90's, it was all damp proofed but she has lost her guarantee so they cannot do anything about it.

Ive took two photos and really dont know what my best option is, it feels as if its blown but not the plaster only the paint, its to the left of a radiator aswell if thats any help, client is willing to let me rip it back to brick but dont want to waste me time if its not needed! any help would be great

Hopefully the photos work first time.

It's only the paint blistering mate just scrape it off give it a lick of undercoat fill it with easifill then sand & paint it ;)

Then do a runner ;D

Thanks for getting back, still learning so what's s/c and w/p? Was thinking rip back, put chemical on and then brown coat and multi finish or am I well off?

Also how far up and sideways should I rip it of?

s/c = sand and cement, w/p = waterproofer and dont use browning. scrape the paint to see how bad the problem is also what is behind the wall?

Its solid wall joined to the next house so I'm guessing brick. I'll have a bit google later to get the ratios of sand and cement.
Do you think should use something for the salt or just water proofer Is enough?

Use a neutraliser rather than brick acid, sometimes hydrochloric can cause more problems when phosphates are present in the substrate.
