how have they oasis? any diyer can fit them, which means we don't get the job. it actually takes a bit of skill to do them freehand, as goody showed

yes but if a customer asked for them and you do not possess the skill level to do them free hand is there a problem fitting pre made?

thought you had someone skilled helping you got to be worth payin them and learnin.

to be fair how oftten does this skill need doing? best just let the pros do this area

My pisss around with forming a corner when they are allready made and can be stuck on, they are easier to clean and can go up in bad weather.
9 times outa 10 when you give a price for the quoins the customer nearly falls over. It doesnt matter if you're quoins are so good it can make their hair grow back they just dont wanna pay you you're day rate to do it.
You could be rendering a house averaging 400 a day ( with my machine) and when you charge a day a corner its a big no no .. so you have to work for less money doing quoin work on that job

And they are always a massive pain in the arse to do and can get damaged during topcoating, dashing, roughcasting whatever.

Cmon Flinny you know i make sense on this.

tut tut lol hey got 2 go with the times... whats next plasterbaord you dont plaster and just fill the gaps!

Make your hair grow back you say hmmmmmmmm lol it does make sense but what kind of price are these quoins off the shelf plus they can also get damaged and stain. plus you would still want a day a corner for fixing these.

Go with the times lol theyve been out forever lol

wow i need to catch up .. be bloody spraying plaster next .. automatic screwing guns the lot

No Flinny my point was not to get involved with the quoins at all because i could be earning better money. As for stains damage etc who cares a fuk if you didnt put them up and didnt stain them.
I would charge one day to install a corner plus materials. These quoins cost about 250 quid a corner and look more like a sandstone than a plasterer could ever imitate for 250 buckles.

If you just love being on the job and have a pride in showing of your beautiful work then furry muff , but i hate twattish jobs like that

Now that makes more sense lol Right oasis you have your answer im also setting you some homework, your always getting info for nothing off me so i would like you to ring up the fella on that website tomorrow (lend a phone lol) and find how much them quoins are then we can see if its worth forming by hand or buying off the shelf. :)

PS your name looked better in blue :-*

So say an average of 15 per corner thats 30 for the front of the house. Then you've got to buy the resin then 2 days to fit them. You work it out mate. I know what ill be doing if I get asked to do some

they look easy to put up, their lightweight and easy to handle. I would have thought you could do 4 corners in a morning

at the end of the day quoins are marmite. From a taste point of view the plastered one's are on nearly all privately owned council houses in swansea and the stick on ones look just that...stick on. Quoins can look ok but unless it's a bank refurb or listed building, stay away.
