Morning all - I am the chump that owns and runs the site 
Interesting in seeing your comments but I have to say a little harsh - as for prices given in your quotes that will depend on the options that are chosen at the time of requesting a quote.
As you point out we do not use a pva we use thistle bondit which a quick google search will tell you is approx £45 a tub and needs to be applied 24 hours in advance so we offer the customer the option of putting it on themselves or we can do it for them at a charge which I feel is justified as we have to pay our people to go and apply it.
Some will say why not use pva - for us it enables piece of mind and it there was ever a problem we can call in British gypsum and see what has gone wrong.
You are not required to sign up to the site as someone mentioned and it is not for lead generation it is another form or marketing for our company we have people getting quotes in the evening and during the week end who simply don't have the time to have builders around to give quotes etc.
Grand wizard if you would like to pm me your quote reference I can see what options you chose etc and see why you feel the price was expensive and would be happy for the feed back on how much you would have charged for the same job.
Any positive feedback would be helpful (ie the look of the site etc)and I happy to answer any fair questions if you would like.
