Re skimming existing plaster and electrics

I am looking at getting a room re skimmed, can someone advise me what normally happens to the electrical socket boxes, are they removed and re fitted to be level with the new skim of plaster or are they left in their original position and just be come slightly recessed ?

They just need the face backing off, the back box stays put and then after it’s skimmed the face screws back on. No drama

If there flat faced sockets I’d woo them off or if your fitting new ones. If not what Jess said.

Haha woo woo should of said wip can’t get used to this new phone lol. But I do keep some spare socket screws if I loose them if there getting new sockets I get them taken off.
