Re skims guarantee

You can offer anything from a day to a lifetime guarantee, the important part is the caveats in the paperwork. All guarantees issued by big companies for anything from a toaster to a supertanker are carefully worded to mean that they expose the company to little or no risk.

Hit post before I'd finished.

Anyway, I would suggest that a guarantee for any plastering work should state quite clearly that the guarantee applies only to the material you apply and the surface that it's adhered to.

So on an overskim it would cover the skim, and the layer of paint it's stuck to. So if the paint peels and the skim comes with it, that's their problem.

If you're doing dot and dab, then it covers the brick/block surface and the dab outwards. If the blocks move or crack, it's their problem.

How can you on a reskim? How far do you take it? Hair line cracks to fully blown? How could you bank on it being the skim failing?to many pitfalls in my eyes,if the works done to a good standard and then painted and is well for a reasonable time then I wouldn't go back

I just pull out Bg book, fill out details and send to hq , job done.

P.s Not replying to any other questions about it today
Thanks vince

Tell em warranty if done by the book hack n render or board but not for skimming over existing old s**t even though never had a problem doing it why risk 1: 100 chance of it going wrong unless they accept the risk ?

Seeing as he has not been off here, he probably hasn't even unpacked his suitcase yet.
