Me and the OH decided we want to move to Australia in the future and after helping my uncle when I was a kid I always fancied being a plasterer, but ended up serving an apprenticeship as a service engineer. Anyway I have realised Id love to get back into plastering and get the skills neccessary and experience to be a taper and joiner in Oz.

But with the recession and contruction on its knees finding someone to put me through an apprenticeship is proving to be a nightmare. I have sent so many Cv's out and tbh I expected a reply as I have proved Im reliable and hard working to get through a 4 year apprenticeship but everyone is struggling

But I don't want to wait forever as Im 24 now and im only getting older and really want to get a move on.

This countrys a joke, if you go on an Australia or New Zealand job site there are tons of apprenticeships going. What to do!

Borrow 100 grand of the inlaws get an apprenticeship over there remortgage pay em back plus a few quid happy days

we aint in a recession any more, theres been growth for the last 3 quaters,it the media talking it up as usually.typical british press full of doom and gloom.
construction is on its arse, but it wont be like that forever.

Ye i read last week were back in the recession. Either way the construction trade is still on its knees for the time being which stuffs my chances of getting a placement
