can anybody please recommend a tape measure that goes back in without having to push a button. I've ordered quite a few of the internet but they the ones that you pull out and have to push a button to get them back in and I forget stood on 3 this week

Once a year Stanley do deals on Amazon. I pick up 10x5m tapes and 5x8m tapes for £1.50 and £2.50 each. Very good tapes

Yes. Home Bargains do a 5 metre tape for 79p. Premium quality. Wickes do a nice nylon one. I must have about ten tapes. Just seem to pick them up at jobs.

Them Komelon ones have measures on both sides of the tape. A very strong retracting spring and a strong magnet at the tapes end.
I just can't buy bargain basket stuff. I'd feel like the measurements weren't right :D

I thought plasterers only used special plasterer's tape measures?

I've often found that I've under charged when building an extension as the walls always seem to end up 30-50% bigger than I had planned by the time the spread gets his tape out. o_O

Tape measures were one of the main things that wind me me up.... they need a good standout for one and also to be accurate

I have always used these, simple , reliable, solid and accurate

The original plasterers measure, never lets me down

Get one with numbers on. Even better one with pre etched measurements on it too like inches and feet etc saves loads of time

Apologies for my previous sarcastic reply try one of these bad boys numbers on both sides and don't kink easily either
