Hi all!
Thanks in advance for sharing you knowledge and experience on this, Been reading some posts and for sure you guys have build a great community! I happen to found the forum because of a post related to a Smarter Surface (SS) competition on 2017, I tried to contact them by social media but they are answering me with the classic generic responses. So I wanted to check with you guys about the possilities.
I'm in Mexico so I don't have access to all types of magnetic plaster, so found that SS has presence here, and is selling the magnetic plaster, I attached the one they have here.
So my main concern is that I'm remodeling my studio and want to confirm if I can use this plaster to put framed work with wood frames and acrylic replacing glass (60x40 and 90x60cm) and even some volumetric objects like a guitar, etc. Cause saw a video from Bristish Gypsum and I want to know from you guys if I can make the SS work it like that since is the only product I have found over here.
The only info I been told from SS is that the product can support til 3 kg, that is applied by 1kg per square meter and is like 1.22 mm per layer. So I supposed that putting more layers will help to get more strong surface for the magnets? And if so how many layers will be appropiate?
Also my wall at the moment has normal plaster painted light gray, so will need any step between this and the magnetic plaster like a sealer?
I don't need the full wall to be magnetic, and also cause a wall table will be along the wall, so what can be the best way to mix areas that are magnetic and other that don't?I uploaded a photo with the areas. so is almost 13 square meters to put the magnetic plaster, also to consider is that some humidity can happen because of the height, I was planning on leaving the plaster as it is, without painting it but don't know if is better to paint it to protect it.
If you have any other advice to consider I'm all ears... or eyes!
Thanks so much in advance!
