i need a new set of buckets, i use the yellow builders buckets for water and they usually last a good 18 months/2 years and use a tall white bucket for mixing plaster, they are good but dont hold enough for me, i always end up needing more gear.

has anyone used these

Link Removed thats the 50 ltr or even the 75 ltr

i think id struggle to lift the 75 ltr onto spot board, and im not one for taking out of bucket.

at £39.99 & £49.99 id like to know if anyone has got one and how good are they

Good buckets these mate, i had one for a year . Went on holiday and came back and one of my lads had cracked it i was gutted. Dont think u could tip that size of mix on to a spot board tho pal.

They are excellent quality. You could probably lift the 50 litre bucket but beyond that you'll need to scoop some out to reduce the weight first: check out their aluminium scoop. As long as you clean them out without banging the sides they will last for ages. There are some who suggest using water butts because they are much cheaper :-)

I have a blue water barrel cut 3/4 up but I only use that for dot and dab as I can mix up to 8 bags per mix and i put it in the middle of the room and just scoop it out, but would never use it for skimming I will look in to the Refina buckets because I'm sick of the cheap B&Q ones cracking

Got a 50 and a 75 there's two of us so both lift the 75 on spot board cannot be doing with scooping out the bucket great buckets last for ages well worth the money

Very expensive for a bucket I think, I can see a labourer grinding a stone into it when mixing and then bye bye bucket, I use the £5 white buckets, generally get six months or so from them..

£5 in wicks and replace every 6-12 months.............:RpS_thumbup:

just use 2 white buckets mixed up at same time leave 1 in the bucket slightly wetter and 1 ready to go tip first on spot use then tip 2nd...easy peasy fela

got white bucket but nearly always having to mix another batch up to scratch on with, just rather mix 1 bucket to scratch on with and another to lay in with. cant be arsed mixing multiple buckets and washing them all out.

probably lift 50 ltr max, couldnt lift the 75 ltr alone. the white buckets are 25 ltr i think.

going to invest in one i think, relegate the white bucket to wash out bucket and get new water buckets. iv had 3 crack in last 3 days.

is it just me or when you see a bit of water around the base of a full bucket, you dont even check for cracks, you just convince yourself some has spilled over edge, lol, tight *******.

ive got to admit mac i wouldnt have a prayer of lifting those big 50 ltr buckets tbh im at my limit with a brimming 25ltr onto the spotboard i recon youd spend half the gauge emptying with a scoop and the other half off the spot i recon would kind of defeat the object like!

could always put a big gorrila tub onto a hop up mate without tipping and just use a big sccop sometimes i find thats more effecient.

Up to 8 bags, why is that a problem ? I gage it at 2 boards(8x4) per bag and if there is two plasterers dabbing them on its not a problem

I would love to see you mix 8 bags of dab in 1 go. It would take forever. It will **** your drill up and with 8 bags in the tub you must only see the handle sticking out the mix. You do see some stupid statements on here...

Like the look of them. Did you put a handle on it yourself? Doesn't look like its got one.
Yes Rossi ,they do one that have a heavy duty handle ,they are great for mixing OCR, tile addy, plaster, i use my mega-mixers in them just on the floor of the site/pool they last for ages,i buy them in bulk as well about six at a go they have lasted me about 8 years so -far and i have one new one left in the garage m8 ...........

Why is it stupid ? To be honest I real don't give a fcuk what you think or what it will do to my drill I've had the drill 5 years and is still working as good as it did when I bought it, just because you think it wouldn't work for you that's fine but I find it saves time and I'm happy with it

Fair play if you do 8 bags at a time but I'd be f***ed doin 8! It's tough enough doin 3!

I must point out that it's not always an 8 bag mix some jobs it maybe a 2-4 bags depending on the size of the room and how many boards are cut ready to stick
