is there anything else other than Rendaid can be used instead of Rendaid getting some redicoulous quotes per bag will be using weber chalk on top thanks

We've used Monogris E with Parex gear but it needs to go on thicker so doesn't work out cheaper than Rendaid.
Or to put it another way, I can't be of any help, sorry.

Enewalls MPA is a decent base coat and you can get it from Jewsons

John stones do a key coat primer which is exactly like rendaid just cheaper. Cures quicker as well

Renaid is over engineered for the use really, any backing render will do, although you only need to apply rend aid to sort of 6mm to be effective so a bag goes a fair way.

Rendaid Is designed to provide a key and control suction of the substrate unless the substrate is fairly smooth I'd use something else.

APPLICATION
With a hawk and trowel or an open hopper spray gun, apply a tight layer 2 - 3 mm thick to the substrate. Texture the surface using a well loaded roller.
