Built this utility room for my old man and I'm fitting windows and glass roof in next few weeks. once I,ve done that I'm gonna render it.

Please correct me if I'm wrong ???.

1) Wet dence blocks. ;D
2)Apply scratch coat of one part cement to a half part lime to four and a half parts sharp sand. ;D
3)Apply top coat of one part cement to one part lime to six parts sharp sand. ;D
4) Rub, rub happy days ;D ;D.

ah dont sweat our richard.. he's been down the country club gettin trollied with the upper clarrrses.. ;D
yeh just bang it on mate, i wouldnt mess about with 1/2 shovels on that mate.. just a 5:1:1 then a 6:1:1.. but im not church so ill prolly get shot again.. ;D
u run any lead down the back of that block wall?
did you put any jablite in that floor?
and what happened to 75mm cavities?
not to mention ISOWOOL!!!!
and WHERES YOUR DPC DOWN THE DOOR YOU ROUGH GIT??? ;D
 
Yes there's a lead hiden gutter ( put your glasses on)

50mm Cavity is minimum allowed, didn't bother with vertical DPC course or insulation because a) it's only a utility room B) my dads a tight arse.

Did old school cavity closers. They always worked before VDPC was invented ;D

PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF SMALL UTILITY ROOM IN HALF BLOCK, HALF UPVC FRAME/GLAZING. BLOCK WORK TO BE TIED INTO EXISTING BUILDING WITH STAINLESS WALL STARTER. WALL 50MM CAVITY CONSTRUCTION USING DENCE CONCRETE BLOCK WITH STAINLESS WIRE TIES EVERY 900MM HORIZONTAL 400MM VERTICAL. . DAMP COURSE AT 150 MM ABOVE OUTSIDE GROUND LEVEL AND OVERLAPPING 1200 DPM FROM CONCRETE FLOOR SLAB. . VALLEY GUTTER TO BE CONSTRUCTED FROM LEAD WORK BETWEEN NEW BUILD AND CLARKES HOTEL TO PROTECT BOTH FROM RAINFALL FROM PITCHED SLATE ROOF.

could have done the slate leadwork while you were at it.. :P
and that boiler flue looks a bit close.. :o
and whats an old school cavity closer? is that where you just brick it up and say 'well its closed innit?'.. ;D

um...why's the leadwork under the gutter ???

only kidding mate, i sure the building inspectors a half blind ex shipbuilder with arceye anyway ;D

least you thought to make that dwarf wall 900 for the appliances.. good show old chap!
 
nah, just everybody else is down t'pub, jesus included and im sittin here watchin wallace and bloomin grommit!

What's this, 20 questions?

Never touched slates on that building because it's pub next door ( not my problem)
Yeah that's old school closers LOL
No issues with flue.
The lead is there as a hidden valley to protect wall next to the pub (there alot of rainfall from that pitched roof) as the two buildings are not tied in to each other. It tucks in under Eaves of pub building and into motar joints on my side. absolutly no water can get down that side of building if gutters ever fail.The gutter was there allready and i'm that accuarate I could leave it in as an extra precaution.
