hi.. looking for some advice on any tips to send the render off during cold conditions.. use a 5:1:1 mix sand,cement,lime.. some days it just sits there and is as wet as when laid on 4 or 5 hours later..! even used an accelerant and frostproofer admix but still a bit hit and miss.. someone must have the secret.. cheers for ya time

What are you rendering? Are you using the same ratios for both coats?

Could be that your scratch coat hasnt dried out and that will stop your top coat setting as quick, also lime will prolong the set. I dont use it.

Could be lots of factors, could do with more information??

no waterproof in the scratch or flow.. scratch has had a week to go off.. scratch was 4:1:1.. i never have a problem till this time of year every bloody winter rendering becomes a nightmare.. i've always used lime in the mix i,ve never heard or experienced that causing a slower set.. could it be temperature?..thanks once again for your input
