Hi all hope everyone had a good weekend.

Need some advice on rendering over painted pebble dash using a parex system.

Would I be right in using parex parinter scratched with a mesh imbedded covering all stress points ect and then go over the top of this with parmurex base coat with a sponge finish as the customer wants to paint it up afterwards .

Thanks!

it's only designed to go on thin but yeah might take 2 coats there is plenty of key on dash so the paint should be well on there but check it all first parinter is full of lime so it burns into the paint so will work we'll if unsure what Stuart says just bell em for a spec

You could use Vimark's fibre reinforced Rasolite, currently sold out, as a base coat to be painted with a masonry paint. Rasolite is back in stock coming week.

Might be of use to you but I got speaking to Parex rep the other day his name is Damien Liston I am sure you can get his number on their sire and he will help you out.

Vimark's Rasolite is fibre reinforced lime based formula and competitively priced at only about £11 per bag ex VAT. Rasolite application by Currier Plastering:

can I get this in the Manchester area if needed mate?

The closest Vimark stockist would be FS Trade, 5 Wilson Rd, Liverpool L36 6FH, 0151 363 1677
But they run out of Rasolite stock shortly after receiving full load delivery, they should be back in stock on Rasolite shortly.

Out other stockist, plasterers 1 stop shop, delivering Vimark render nationally, and they also sold out on fibre reinforced Rasolite, but they will receive it back in stock beginning coming week.

Rasolite is extremely popular base coat at the moment, therefore I'd suggest giving a notice to the stockist some time upfront especially if it is a larger project.

Bauwer could you one coat over old painted dash using you're product and what guarantee do you give?

One coat over painted dash Vimark specification would be Arenino VK2, sponged finish, with addition of 1 liter of Vimarlatex per bag of Arenino VK2:

https://www.vimark.co.uk/products/mineral-topcoat-coloured-render-arenino-vk2/

https://www.vimark.co.uk/products/copolymer-for-general-use-vimarlatex-883/

The old painted render needs to be solid, as new system would hold to the substrate as well as the old render holds to the substrate. The test for solid substrate:
https://www.vimark.co.uk/cross-cut-pull-off-tests/

Assuming old dash render was clean, jet washed and solid, we guarantee that Arenino VK2 (with 1L of latex per bag) would not delaminate from old dash render for 10 years. Actually it would not be possible to remove Arenino VK2, as adhesion would be very strong.

I'm guessing it's the same for non painted dash too?? My dad was on about doing his told him about this and @Bauwer youre local too.

That's correct, same for non painted dash. We are based in Liverpool and the closest Vimark stockist to Formby would be FS Trade, Liverpool, which holds Arenino VK2 and Vimarlatex in stock. You might consider making a test panel, so you could see the Arenino VK2 sponged finish as well.
