Rendering over Pebble dash

Hi I’m Alex got a bungalow which has paint pebble dash on it and it’s a pain to get off but it’s all solid . My question is can I put rendagrip on it the use fibre glass mesh to go over the render with sand and cement

Hi Alex, generally I would say that the paint should be removed before applying render however in your case coating it with rendagrip, should be enough before applying sand / cement. i would recommend mix of 5 : 1 Sand cement or 6:1:1 Sand cement Lime. Weaker mixes shrink less so less likely to shell off. I wouldnt bother with fibreglas.
