Hey chaps,

Need to call on your vast experience again, i've been asked to render over teraline, its been painted in the past.
A older chap suggested a slurry SBR painted on first to give it plenty of stick, or should i just sheet mesh first to avoid a drama.
I look forward to getting some feedback, again cracking forum lots of good info.

Regards
Barry.

You could give hire a wall scabbler or needle gun to try take the paint off and give you a key to work on, then slurry coat then scratch

I'm working on a house were some guy rendered over this suff he dint even add new bead! looks about 20" thick then curved back into the old beads! cracked everywere

Yeah it would crack, SBR is probably the best way forward you could eml it but i have done it in the past and if the mesh isnt tight you get hollow sounding areas it should be fine but this one customer thought it was all gonna come off, I assured him it was fine but he wasnt having any of it so we had to take the lot off :'( Nowadays we add fibers to the scratch and sbr havent had 1 go wrong since :)

bought a rotary scabler from refina check them out, there a bit pricey or just knock the lot off in which case youll need an sds hammer drill get a titan from screwfix about 70 quid and worth the money

Many thanks for the advice guys, think i may have to go with the a tight eml mest effort, as the time frame is tight,or the rendaid, which i'm going to look into right now, does the grand wizard know what suppliers stock the product?
As always heaps of advice fellas, proper good.

Regards
Barry.
