Rendering Pre-Flab Pebble Dash Garage

Hi,

First ever post on here so please go easy. As the title suggests, im looking at rendering my pre-flab pebble dashed garage wall. Its at my own house. I barely do any rendering (i am a plasterer) so just looking at gaining some experience. Im just after some advice on how to tackle it. I was thinking of embedding mesh into the sand and cement scratch coat then topping off with a plain faced S+C finish. I do like the K-Rend type finish but im not too clued up on where to even start with that. Any advice would be great?? Thanks.

Pre flab I guess your not on about your gut...
If it's a pre fab, it wants to be an adhesive over it rather than a render as a base coat fully meshed then either a bucket coat or scratch render.

Haha! Pre-Fab sorry although my gut needs plenty of work too.

Im a novice when it comes to rendering. Adhesive over it? What sport of product will acheive this? So a S+C scratch coat wont be good enough?

Im doing this mainly to gain some experience rendering. Standard sized garage so hoping this can lead to taking on some rendering jobs on the future. Thanks for the reply.

Stay away from sand and cement mate. Speak to k rend, parex or Webber on the phone and they will advise you on best products to use and also how to use them if not sure. If it's your own house you can have a bit of trial and error.

Thanks for reply. I'll give them a ring and see whats best. I dont mind if this jobs a learning curve for me and its not perfect.
