Rendering tips needed

Hi guys just after a couple of tips cos gotta do a bit of rendering soon and not really done much. Is it ruled off in same way as hardwall and do you put it on in one or two coats(indoor rendering). Also should you need to battern wall to rule off to or should you not need to, and if not am I right in saying that you rule off sideways then up and down then when it looks ok you float it? do a search of the forum and read plenty of threads the information is all there, you need to find out the mixes there are two coats for rendering internally and the background can make a difference.
