rendering

can someone explain how to achive this angle. cheers

Ill try, put a belcast bead above your window making sure the drip bead is an even distance either side of the window reveal or it will look turd, render the wall as norm and above the window which will be a bit thicker because of the bead so it will project out slightly, when its ready for the float rub up as normal and slightly angle your float at either end of the bead where the render is thicker. Hope this helps. I didnt realise its quite tricky to explain ;D

If you're very dextrous, got three hands or a mate you could hold a straight edge (or batten) from the corner of the belcast and use it as a sort of mould

my house is painted tyrolean mate and i smooth rendered over the top ............i errrrr just unibonded it (ouch) and scratch coat and floated it all regular mixes 4-1 then 5-1-1
i was relying on the key from the tyrolean but it was naughty because it was painted and apart from one crack its held.........touch wood ::)
if it's painted i would tell the customer to use eml, i the paint pulls were in the sh*t but other than that theres a decent key
.......then theres the problem of using a strong scratch coat over the previous coat unless you want to kick off with a 6-1 scratch coat ................. or you could use building paper and eml so youve got a completely independant render.........over renderings a nightmare mate but its worth pointing out the benefits and costs of each system and let the customer decide on the risk and cost

fancy breathable paper? (expensive) and expanding metal lathe mate you can buy it in rolls sheets or rib lathe with ribs running horizontal to keep it off the wall slightly, you can buy eml in galvanised or stainless , not sure about rib lathe though i think its stainless only mate
if you use both the paper still allows the wall to breathe and the eml gives you a key ............slightly over the top but i cant think of a more fail safe way to over render

many a building control inspector wouldnt have it any other way mate ;)

do you still use angle beads when using finishes like rough cast or pebble dash. cheers
I only use plastic ones when im wet dashing but only as a guide on the externals. I use them round the windows work up to them and rub up the reveals, On dry dash i use a hard arris,
