Repairing scratch plaster?

Hello,

After removing the old tiles and renovating the bathroom, some areas have appeared where the existing scratch plaster (I am not sure if this is a proper english word, here in Germany we call it "Kratzputz") has been damaged or partially removed (see photos below). I have roughly measured the size, which is 2-3 mm.

The question is whether and how such areas can be repaired? My idea was to remove the coat around the spots (maybe 2-5 cm) (actually goes quickly with some water and a putty knife), prime and then apply new coat. Maybe brush the edge between the old and the new coat.

Or is there another solution here?

Thank you.
