Not many do my old man was gonna retire but he died before he had chance, he just finished a rendering job the day before he died, I do know a screeder who retired at 50 only because he was loaded and didnt need to work any more but it takes alot of wise investments.

my old mans still at it and hes over 70 overskimmed a room last week on his own sometimes i do wonder where he gets it from must be the beer ;D

my old gaffer is still at it, he's 65 now i think 60 when he training me. he fell from a scaffold hit a pole bounced through a window (closed) and he still at it. no sh1t

My old man is still at it at 65, I've been telling him for years to buy a mixing drill but he'll have none of it, reckons when he's to knacked to mix then he'll stop ??? ???

There's a bloke at the firm i sub to in his 70s he can keep going all day
as long as he's on walls in the afternoon not ceilings
& he keeps up with most of us, trouble is his eyes are going
& his work is getting worse.
time to hang up his trowel i think.
I plan on retiring at 55 but we'll see.
Most the old blokes i know in the trade keep on working after retirement.
