hold youre trowel up against the frame, with youre left index finger set the margin on youre toe of the trowel and rule up and dont let youre fingers move, you can rule them side ways with a little edge if you want after

you could nail a piece of wood on the wall in a vertical position, at the right depth for the reveal then fill in inbetween the window frame and wood. this is how i would do it if i was forming my own angle otherwise i would just rule off a float bead that i had dabbed on ;)

its all fingers and toes then

I've phoned a couple of the closure manufacters and they've said that S&C over them is fine but if it's a reveal on the side the door closes onto then just embed a strip of mesh in it, which pleased me no end as that's just what I'd been doing already.

When I said put mesh in door reveals I meant the fibreglass mesh as in the stuff used in external rendering.

I have been told that you cant rough over cavity closures? we usually dab em then float into the board.

Some of them closers are utter w@nk, its like someone has put some cotton wool in a Tesco bag and nailed it to the wall. Add to that the half arsed way brickies fit them.

I think this was bought up a while ago by napper ? Cant remember what the conclusion was though, hang on a sec

whats the best way to float and set revels?
we always dot and dab them leave an over hang of 20 30 mm and allow for sockets and wires etc and float up to them and then bang on some skim beads
