just been stung to the tune off £2000 me and my mate £1000 each

really hit me for 6, just didn't think there was people like that out there, agreed a price before we did the job. a s.h.i.t. price at that worked our knackers off to get it done and just had a call saying he's payin us £80 a day as the m2 is too complicated to work out (loads of bulkheads) its worked out £2000 sort of what we first invoiced him.

move on and put it down to experience or keep trying???

Invoice him again. If you have nothing in writing add a bit more on for the hassle/admin. If you've got something in writing, he can't get out of it, the b*stard. Tell him you/he can bring in a QS to settle it if neccesary, but don't walk away - it's not like you don't want to offend him in case you get no more work off of him.

tell him you want the money that was agreed. end of story.would you let someone come upto you in the airport and take your plane tickets off you so you had to load your family up and take em home and explain to your mrs and kids that you couldn't go on holiday cos that nasty man has taken your tickets. or would you bite his nose off?

If someone pays part of an invoice in law that shows that the invoice was accepted as being correct by them. I was told this by a dept collection company that I am planning on using.

if you dont get paid then let it lie for a while , find out where he lives and then concrete his drains, and while you are there dump a load on his door step/drive,! that will teach the toe rag!!

ADS thats spot on mate, cheers. basically he's givin it "the standard of plastering is w.a.n.k." when its not its come up looking nice, there was a bit of snagging to do but you get that on most jobs (price work)
we've been charged for another plasterer to go in and snag damage caused by sparks and chippy.

destroyed me nearly, spent my last few quid holdin out for this payment im now broke, no tax on van, our lass just left us. f.u.k.i.n bad times

things can only get better mate ;)...........if it makes you feel better my mate has booked into a lads weekend should be a cracker and weve waited 6 weeks for a payment and his mum lost his cheque on the way to the bank ;D

If he is claiming the work is poor, he needs to give you the opportunity to put it right, he can't just bring in anyone else without giving you first chance to rectify any problems...........looks like you need to move quickly with this b*stard, - seek some advice from a debt collector (if ya know one) or from court services.

with Ltd companies the first letter usally does the trick if not the second will(don't want a CCJ against them) unless they really think you've f**k*d them.
mate i've been there so many times over the years (usually just before christmas),i used to get knocked £2000-£3000 a year and just let it go.
not anymore i'll chase every penny(don't always get it but at least iknow i've given them some s**t too!).
don't let get you mate, that what this game (and life) can be like but it ain't always.
sorry to hear about your bird but if she isn't supporting you through hard times then f**k her (or not),there will be others (that you can't stand after a month or so but stay with!?!)

well my mate who i work for would rather drop it and put it down as experience, but i'v told him i would rather look back and think i'd given it my best shot.
really appreciate that template letter im going to send them that with a copy of invoice, see what happens.

just hard at the minute when works good its really good but when its bad you wonder why you got into the trade.
anyway i'v just started skimmin my old mans staircase a freebie of course (well a crate of stella) and realised why i did start plastering. not the money but job satifaction 100% you can keep your fu..ckin office jobs

Good on ya mac that's the spirit! ;)

Now sink a few of them wifebeaters that'll make you feel a bit better mate ;D

Hopefuly you isued a quote at the start. How can they expect to pay per M when as you said there's to many bulkheads. Make the other trades there aware as well, cos that should bring it to a halt. How the f**k can people treat people like this, f**k**g insulting. Just pisses you off

not really, started working for them back in july the payments were all over the place then, took this refurb job on and just went ti..ts up from there really.

got a letter here ready to go stating what we're owed and whats been paid ect ect
so i'll let people know if i get a reply.

thanks for advice every1.

regarding the ex she wanted me to buy us a house round here, when im not ready i'd rather get a cheap place and rent it out for my pension first. typical women wants everything now.
