Hi guys,
I'm about to put up some Knauf aquapanel and I'm going to a screw it into old brick wall through after securing first with adhesive...boards are really heavy so want to belt and braces with some good screws that are long enough...The only Knauf ones I can find are 39mm long and think I need to find something a bit longer and similar waterproof quality...don't want 40 odd kgs of panel and tiles falling on my little boy when he's playing with his rubber duck!
Cheers.

Hello mate

You will find loads of good quality stainless steel screws a available in various lengths

Get the right core and thread to suit the wall plugs you choose....

You want a countersunk screw head with a diameter of approx 9 mm...... longer screws tend to have larger heads as standard

Thanks for choosing to use Knauf Aquapanel

All the best

Knauf

Knauf advise the use of a wall lining system or coated timber battens fixed back to the brickwork..... A stronger support for a heavy board and tiles (hence Knauf not having screws for a bonded solution)

Gypsum dab adhesive will soften if it gets damp in a wet room environment, so it may be best to use a tile adhesive instead.

Mark the wet spots that the adhesive makes on the board face as it drys.... Once fully dry, drill through these marked areas to the bricks behind - plug and screw securely.
