salt marks

I've had damp patches! the damp is treated, but there is salt marks on the wall. can i just paint over them or should i treat the areas first? if so, what with?

It's efflorescence mate, as the water is evaporating it leaves salts on the surface,
so usually just remove the salts with a dry brush.
If they re appear the wall isn't properly dry yet so just remove again with a dry brush,
You could use a salt neutraliser.
Then paint it
