I'm rendering an internal wall in a bedroom. I did a scratch coat of 4:1. I then went to do a top coat of 5:1 and realised that I'm going to have to scratch it and do another coat, as the wall is so wonky. So the top (third) coat I was going to do as 5.5:1.
If I need to do 2 scratch coats and then a top coat, because my wall is so wonky, how should I deploy the ratios? Should each of the three coats be progressively weaker, or is it okay to do two scratch coats of the same ratio, and then a weaker top coat? Or a strong scratch coat and then the second scratch and top coat are the same weaker ratio? Thank you
